Simon Cook (English cricketer) : ウィキペディア英語版
Simon Cook (English cricketer)
Simon James Cook (born 15 January 1977 in Oxford) is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.
Cook initially played in 1996 for Cumnor before a year later being picked up by Middlesex along with Andrew Strauss.
Cook would be inhibited from playing for a time, with shin splints and stress fractures delaying his progress. He was restricted to only seven first-class performances in 2000, and when his mentor Angus Fraser left two years later, Cook helped to continue the tide of wickets, recording his best figures of 8 for 63, and finishing just shy of 50 wickets for the season. In 2004 he scored 39 wickets in the National League, equalling the record of Adam Hollioake.
He signed a contract with Kent at the end of 2004 and has become a regular first teamer mostly taking the new ball and sometimes acting as a night watchman. His brother, Adam, has played Minor counties and List A cricket for Oxfordshire.
